Are Prawns Good For You?

Everyone loves prawns but everyone also wants to know whether they are a high cholesterol unhealthy indulgence? 

To better understand the value of prawns one should note that a balanced diet is the most important thing to have and maintain. We as humans need all elements of fat, protein, carbohydrates and fibers in out diet; although different people and body types will process these in different ways.

Prawns are a complete protein, which entail they have all nine amino acids. They contain a higher than average cholesterol amount; but the profile consists of healthy fats, as they contain high amounts of Omega 3 Fatty Acid.
 It is important to understand that fat is an important dietary requirement for your body, but the fats have to be high quality; We have heard the names LDLs and HDLs. Again, this is an opinion peice and hope it is a foundation for you to do further research, as there is a lot of misinformation on diet and nutrition.

Beyond Proteins and Omega 3 Fatty Acids, There are various Vitamins and Minerals found in Prawns (Vitamin B-6,B-12, Zinc, Magnesium).

One has to be aware that there are people that may have an allergy to prawns, and it is important to consult your doctor if you experience anything upsetting after eating prawns. Also remember to ask your guests if they have any particular food allergies before ordering any foods.
